Privacy Policy
Short version: Bug Othello does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. The game works entirely on your device and does not connect to the internet.
1. Information we collect
We collect no personal information. Bug Othello does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos or any other personal detail. There is no account and no sign-in.
2. Information stored on your device
The game saves a small amount of gameplay data locally on your device so it can pick up where you left off. This data never leaves your device and we cannot read it:
- Your score — the running total of points earned across games.
- Selected difficulty — whether you last chose Easy, Medium or Hard.
This information is stored using Apple's standard on-device storage for apps. It is removed automatically when you delete the app, and you can clear it at any time by deleting and reinstalling Bug Othello.
3. Network connections
Bug Othello does not require an internet connection and does not communicate with any server. The app does not request network access at all, so no data can be sent anywhere, intentionally or otherwise.
4. Third parties
The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics or crash-reporting services, no social media integrations and no third-party tracking SDKs. No data is shared with third parties because no data is collected in the first place.
5. In-app purchases and advertising
Bug Othello is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertisements. The app does not serve personalised ads and does not use the advertising identifier.
6. Children's privacy
Bug Othello is suitable for all ages and is rated 4+. Because the game collects no personal information from anyone, it also collects no personal information from children.
7. Your rights
Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data held about you — access, correction, deletion, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. Since Bug Othello collects no personal data and transmits nothing to us, there is no data for us to access, correct, delete or sell. If you would like to remove the gameplay data stored on your device, simply delete the app.
8. Data retention and security
All gameplay data stays on your device under the protection of iOS. We hold no copy of it, and no server or database exists that could be breached.
9. Changes to this policy
If a future version of Bug Othello adds a feature that changes how data is handled — for example an online leaderboard — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the “Last updated” date above will change. We recommend checking this page whenever you update the app.
